KYOTO INTERCHANGE and SanM Color Co., Ltd. have produced a limited edition catalog of 90 volumes as a record of the exhibition by artists Teppei Kaneba and Chihiro Mori (to be held at Hanbei Ringojo Building Hall Keiryu from August to October 2023). and start selling. Kinkin Mori has previously published many works using lenticular printing using the technology of SanM Color Co., Ltd. The catalog we are selling this time was created by taking advantage of our past collaborations, and the cover in particular is a book that can be enjoyed as a work of art.
[About lenticular printing]
A type of printed matter that uses a sheet-like lenticular lens to change the pattern depending on the viewing angle, giving it a three-dimensional effect. A typical lenticular uses a ready-made lens sheet and can only change in one direction. With SunM Color, by creating lenses with transparent ink, you can freely mix the direction and presence of change. Until now, this technology had only been applied to acrylic, but we have now succeeded in creating lenticular patterns on the paper surface as well, and this is the first time the technology has been used on the cover of this catalogue.
The cover features a new work, a lenticular version of Chihiro Mori's "Fruit Catch" series. The globe and fruit images change horizontally to positive/negative, and the background color changes vertically.
